Life is what you make it. Make it the best experience you can. Please don’t wait for someone to come along to tell you what to do and when to do it. You may feel like a child inside. Most of us do, no matter our age. Your soul doesn’t age only your flesh. As an adult, we are free to make decisions on your own. Time is the only thing you have. It is your ‘life’s currency’ use it or lose it, but you can never get it back. And no one knows when their’s will run out. Proverbs tells us, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring” [27:1]. No matter what your age, it is never too late to educate yourself. Scripture suggests we number our days so that we can gain a heart filled with wisdom [Psalm 90:12].
Expand your knowledge, read. Grow in your spirituality, study the Bible. Share yourself and give to others. Give to those that can’t return your gift. You’ll find it one of the most gratifying things you will ever do — giving without expectations. Get off the computer, limit your social media activities. Create a group of friends to engage with, face-to-face, regularly. The television, computer, and your smartphone is not the end-all to end all! They are not real and will not satisfy your souls’ desire for genuine engagement. Find a hobby. Being creative is hardwired in all of us. God created man in His image. God created the heavens and the earth. According to Romans, we have been given different gifts, by God’s grace [12:6]. “Do not neglect your gift” [1 Timothy 4:14]. Create. Paint. Work in clay. Cook. Garden. Learn yoga. Find something you can fall in love with and be enthusiastic about and do it!
We all ask, “Is this my life?” No, only if you settle. If you settle, when the time comes, and you look back, [we all look back], you’ll have regrets. Start now, and live every God-given MOMENT so that you’ll never look back with regret. Enjoy the highs and lows. Because even the lows make us who we are. They make the highs even higher and sweeter. Like the song says, throw your hands in the air, and wave ’em like you don’t care – Enjoy Your Journey!
Father, fill us with joy and peace, so that we may overflow with hope, abundance, and delights by the power of the Holy Spirit.
